Project Overview
We are so excited to have restored this iconic building! America’s first Bible society, founded in 1808 by Robt. Ralston, Bishop White, and Dr. Benj. Rush. In 1812 PBS was first in the U.S. to print Bibles using stereotyped plates which made them affordable and advanced literacy.
The cornices and east facing wall were in need of repair and paintin.
The paint on the wood trim was perhaps 50 to 80 years old. It was flaking off in large chunks. In many places, it was impossible to remove the paint or to even sand it smooth. The paint was so hard. Thus, we primed with oil, then used Readypatch to smooth over these rough spots. The masonry paint had all but failed and about 95% of the old paint had to be removed.
There were several large holes in the masonry that needed to be filled.
And a significant amount of the wood trim had to be rebuilt, patched, and caulked.
We used Romabio mineral based paint on the masonry, which is a high-performing, mineral masonry paint made for extreme durability. A beautiful, permanent flat finish that is naturally mold resistant, toxin-free, and environmentally friendly. Mineral paints are breathable and calcify to the masonry surface allowing moisture to release creating a longer lasting finish with low maintenance.
The trim was painted with Sherwin Williams Emerald in a gloss finish.

Victorian Window Bay Painting & Restoration
This famous row of Voctorians seems to get photographed and instagrammed every day! 705 S. 3rd had fallen into major disrepair. The metal bay was completely falling apart in spots, especially the seams, which allow water (and wildlife) to enter.

Interior Painting & Window Replacement
This 1920’s bungalow style house is quite unlike the other houses in the area. We painted the entire exterior, and installed new windows throughout, adding in a 3-panel picture window which opened up the first floor to great possibilities!
